OMG!!!
George Jones.
* twitch twitch *
My mom made me listen to Ole Lonesome George when I was a kid.
I think that's why ( along with Tammy Whineass....whoops...Wynette ) that I became a metalhead....lol

My dad listened to his country music in my parents room most of the time so I was spared from most of it. Most of the country music that I do like was my dad's that I later discovered. Some I can listen to. Like classic George, Billy Ray Cyrus etc but a lot of the other ones you have to really be into country to like.

It was definitely a positive thing. Not to my Mom though.....lmao
Imagine her shock when I went to the pharmacy and brought home Iron Maiden's Powerslave...
But there is some newer stuff that I kinda like.
Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert...a few others.

Heh, I know what you mean. My mom was shocked when I brought home the Live After Death record.
He's not new but I've been listening to Eddy Raven lately. His music is classified as country but it sounds like soft rock to me. Really good though.

Re: Music Chat
Ronnie was truly one of the great voices, and great PEOPLE of heavy metal.
His music basically inspired me to start writing when I was back in high school. I always loved the magic/fantasy stuff in the songs he wrote.
I am in the process of actually trying to write a novel and I am still using some of the concepts from his music in my story.
At this point, I am going to use some of the lines from his songs at the beginning of each part of the book as a tribute to him.
Hopefully, if it ever gets published, I will be able to obtain the permissions necessary to keep the lines there.
Rest in peace, Ronnie.

So, the book.... is it sci-fi? You just can't lay that bomb out there without a little explanation buddy? Do tell....

Well....it's a Fantasy/Adventure with a little bit of Satire thrown in for good measure.Brian wrote:So, the book.... is it sci-fi? You just can't lay that bomb out there without a little explanation buddy? Do tell....
I am making an attempt at turning the Fantasy Genre on it's ear by using traditional characters like Elves and Dragons and such in non traditional roles. All while coming up with some creatures of my own.
So far, the people that have seen it have been pretty positive about it.

Different subject: Most people here at work listen to Pandora online Radio but it stops at 40 hrs of listening. You have to wait until the next month to reset.... WWW.Slacker.com is the best I have found. Anyone know of a better one?
