As always with to good stuff. . .embedding disabled. . .

For personal reasons (super-shallow me, a decade ago) I love this song. Still, doesn’t Shawn Mullens look like a serial killer or something. . .

Shawn Mullins - Lullaby

What this song teaches: the secret to life is in surviving it.

Thanks. Now if only the program had a longer minimum note length than 3/16 of a second! It keeps sampling at 6/32, 5/32, 4/32, 3/32 or 2/32. The higher the denominator, less notes and perhaps more sustain. That's what I need, but I am still not getting enough, so once I imported the midi file, I had to add phaser, wah-wah and echo.

And somewhere along the line you must have killed a klingon or two...

Something like that. Just before the beam struck him, he cried, "Wah! Wah!"

I will never forget this song it was a favorite of a friend of mine who was killed in a traffic accident just after photography school...he had an internship with National Geographic lined up and everything...he was just moving his stuff home and stopped to shift a load in the back of his truck when he was struck from behind by another car in the breakdown lane.

Pray the Lord My Soul to Keep (As Cars Collide) (Copyright, Sargeant: February, 1996)

Highway drive.
Sixty-five.
1000 miles behind,
Blurring in my mind.
The journey's end's so far.
Music's loud & I'm protected in my car -
but I'm feeling tired
and it's time to retire.
I have to pull off & sleep soon.
Get some sleep.
Pray the Lord my soul to keep.

Good ole boy.
Brand new toy.
Watch out lil southern town,
when he & the gang's around.
The night has just begun,
the music's loud & he's buying drinks for everyone.
He's been feeling wired.
Set the world on fire.
Shoot 'em up & howl at the moon.
Hold on tight.
Lord, no sleep in here tonight.

Rear-view mirror.
You're too near.
100 miles an hour.
Unaware of your power.
The music still plays as you slam into my car.
The journey's end just got farther.
The world spins & comes to a screeching halt.
All around me are the shattered results.
I don't want to think about it.
I need to sleep.
Pray the Lord my soul to keep.

(A follow-up to this post will be posted in the other music thread in a few minutes.)
