The Return of Journey

Post by MzSnowleopard » Mon Oct 05, 2009 9:41 pm

They're back stronger than ever...

Journey, with a new lead singer is back on tour...

"Don't Stop Believin', the classic Journey power ballad, has just become the first catalog track in history to achieve online digital sales of more than 2 million units, according to SoundScan.

Journey and Arnel Pineda

It's amazing how he sounds so much like the original voice of "Don't Stop Believing"

Wow.

He doesn't quite have the power vocally for the higher notes like Steve Perry did, but that guy is just about a dead wringer for Perry from Journey's early days.

Pretty impressive.

Dead ringer is right- I had just tuned in to Oprah the other day when they started 'don't stop believing' and I was floored. At first I thought it was Perry- and then I saw the singer- easily half the age of the other guys.

I thought it was funny when Oprah asked for their reactions to this guy- and one of them said "does he speak English?" jokingly of course.

Arnel is soft spoken and speaks fluent English.

I said 'easily half' not 'he is half'

I've been speaking with Kisha lately about how different people interpret what others say. Some people take things at face value- not reading between the lines or looking for hidden meanings; others look at what is typed and read something completely left field.

My choice in words for understanding is different from what you interpreted. I should have should have said- he 'could' easily. As it reads- I was abreviating my words. My apologies for the misrep.

You and me both- the changes in the weather are making me painfully sick. And yes, I forgive you too. :smt002
