Did God create man, or man create God?

I have decided God is dead. My journey has been a long one. I have come from being a believer, to an agnostic, and now finally an atheist.
What I need is a new God, one who is compatable with technology and who would assume the functions of a providence.
Perhaps an alien race of beings so far in advance of us that we could only look upon them as gods.
I don't think that is impossible. :smt001

Sounds more like the God of Institutions, or the Institutionalized God, is what is dead to you.

Yep, that was the reason why I searched long time, after I began to believe - the Bible tells another thing than the big churches want make us to believe.
When you read about the first church established by Jesus and his Apostles - if you can speak of an established institution anyway - there was no celibacy, no monasteries, no professional priesthood and theologists (except the Pharisees - or was it the Saducees?), no political interference, it was much more spiritual.

I'd like to join. I'm already discordianist and pope. And btw all of you are also popes now.

I've invented some, too.

I do not want to be a Pope; i.e. Ich möchte nicht ein Papst sein.
Now, if I translate this back, it says I want/wish not a Pope to be, so I guess this must be correct, unless Papst is not the translation of Pope. :)

The Church of Calm Chaos is all about Babes and Money. Except for Red, he needs nourishment too. :smt003

ok.

Why don't you want to be a pope?
Btw. The translation is correct, while "Ich möchte kein Papst sein" would also be sufficient.

If you build it, they will come. :-)

The whole trick is getting it built...lol

You might not exactly find Red's idea of " good food " appealing though....lol

A rather belated reply to Knightmare's query. Yet I don't mind joining the Church of Calm Chaos. And yes, it is the institutionalised God, the God of church, that I am railing against.
The Calm Chaos church could also be called the 'Church of Plenty, if it's all about money and all things good; but I'm afraid the Babes are not for me. Rather the Hunks.
For me the Bible can only be true in one context, and that is to do with aliens. There's plenty of evidence for that in the Bible, particularly the Old Testament.

I am sure we can arrange a couple of " hunks " for you in the Church....but....ummmm....won't your husband be a bit miffed with us if we did that??? lol

As far as it being about money....the others had that idea. I really don't need money....lol

Have I ever been the political type, the one who rails against what others say, and who takes offence? Not likely.
Am I likely to stand on a podium, take the moral high ground when someone says something 'offensive?' No, of course not.
I would more likely than not just ignore them. You just can't change the world or human nature. (get those violins wailing)
Men will always be men and women will always be women - at least for the forseeable future - and MAN himself is a being of infinite possibilites; one who can lead us up to the sunlit uplands or into the darkest depths of hell (come on, get that music rolling) to the highest ideals of sainthood or to the lowest ranks of devil.....(this speech ain't going nowhere, is it really?)
Anyway, to summarise, I don't care wot anywun says. :smt023 :smt026

OOOOhhhhh don't you worry Sarge, it's Susan alright. And we don't want no logic on 'ere do we. As for conflict well, I am not too good at starting wars deliberately, but I sure am good at starting wars non-deliberately, without me knowing it, that is. :smt011
