What are the most recent games or best games so far that are worth buying?

What are the worst games and those to avoid?

These are the questions of a truley fullfilled life you know.

I have one game so far and that is PGR (Project Gothum Racing) 3.

This is one of the first racers to come out but if you want the sensation of acutally racing city street courses at 200+ MPH it is an ok game. There are 30 or more cars to choose from some are hidden util you earn trophies but they are representative of actual production cars. The online option is available which I don't have yet as this is an extra cost I thought I would wait until there were more choices to spend the extra $$$. When I am set up online anyone wanting to race, bring it on!

Too bad I don't have a 360. Racing games are almost all I play. Other than Baseball.

And the Tiggers came thru last night. I'm going to hold you to your prediction of 6 games.

When you're playing the racing games do you have the steering whell console and all that or just use the arrow key controls?

I don't have any gaming systems, just the PC, and have found it difficult to use the arrow keys but don't play enough to justify the steering wheel.

With me Labbie it's all about affordable realism, that is I can't afford a Masserati so the game will have to suffice and because I'm already drawn to this kinda stuff if a joystick or flight yoke makes it more real that's what I'm going to go get. The X-box360 of course has it's limitations (hand held controller) but with this I can crash and burn with the best and still walk away. lol Games are games and in my opinon just an escape and something to do. Some get really hook and can do nothing else but not really me at this point and it gets tiring after a while. I have flown around the world on my computer and will never be able to do this in real life. It is still to me an accomplishment as is the winning of battles in other sims. Warning, if your not hooked now don't get hook as it will take over your life for weeks at a time.

Oh, I'm a gamer from way back, just always used the PC. Mostly the various versions of Doom and Quake are what really hooked me. OI tried the demo of Quake 4, but got pissed because it tool me 45 minutes before I got to kill anything. Too complicated, not enough monsters.

Godmode is my favorite mode, and codes to get all weapons at the start make be very happy.

I just use the arrow keys and buttons on the PC Labbie.

I usually play most of my games on the PS2. I use the controller on that as well.

I have seen a few good ones listed but I think some of the greatest ones have yet to be mentioned. Lets see for the 360 launch they had Perfect Dark Zero. Good game that could fo been better if they had taken longer to work out some of the bugs. I am sure they were getting all sorts of presure from Microsoft to get it on by launch so there were atleast a few games to play when the console was released.
Next there is GRAW or Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. This is a much better game then PDZ, but there are some multiplayer issues that still need to be worked out for GRAW.
More Recently there have been games like Splinter Cell Double Agent released. I have to admit, I have never played any Spliter Cell game in story mode. My favorite part of the splinter cell games playing them in multi-player mode and getting a Merc in a head lock and turning your mic on to talk trash to him right before you kill them. It is a great feeling I am strongly suggest everyone try it atleast once.
Next week Gears of War will be released. I can tell you much about it other then I am looking forward to it and have already taken a week off of work to play it.
Lastly, Microsoft has 2 games that they have been working on that I am looking forward to. First one is (as lame as it might sound) Halo 3 just cause I like to run around like and idiot and shoot people from time to time. The second one is a game called Too Human which Microsoft claims has been in development for almost a decade. From the screen shots of the game I have seen it almost looks like a cooler version of the Playstation game God of War.

overG Fighters

Post by Dances with Werewolves » Wed Dec 27, 2006 11:33 pm

I got overG Fighters one for Christmas and the best thing about this game is the replay, It's just like watching a movie of yourself flying a mission. Each mission is short and to the point, also a plus imo, it plays pretty much the same as the old F15 but with a few more selectable aircraft. I haven't tried online yet being off the net for a week.... :smt009

I gets progressively harder as you would expect which makes you learn the game so if you get frustrated easily it not a good one. I keep getting a hot candle up my rear but I'm getting better. lol The beginner level won't let you roll inverted and you must dive first inorder to loop but the rest is realistic.

Wait until the price comes down if it hasn't already to under $50 US to buy it if you like to fly but, the replay is really cool.

Is there a demo I can download to try it before I spend $50 bucks on it?

I have the Microsoft wireless steering wheel, it is really the only way to go. I started with a retro fit of Forza Motorsports for X-Box then got Gotham 3 Currently I am waiting for the new edition of Forza Motorsports 2. I ordered it in Feb and the release has been delayed three times. Released the 29th, I should get it today or tomorrow. The wheel is very realistic with paddle shifters and true to life feel. run off the road or hit something and the wheel will actually wrench out of your hands and the vibration is very realistic as well. I have raced in the real world on short dirt and asphalt tracks, one super speedway (The old Ontario Motor Speedway in Ontario Ca.) high speed road course at Riverside and spent years drag racing various types and classes of hot rods. I am very impressed with the System and the games.

Forza Motorsports 2 is it, it has the most realistic situations You will find in a racing game. I use the Microsoft wireless wheel. I also have the MadCatz wheel but I've not used it yet with this game so I cannot comment on compatibility of that device.
If you have played the original Forza made for the X-Box and migrated it to your X-Box 360 throw it away and purchase the new game. I started out in the Arcade which lets youi run any car on any track but does not permit upgrades etc. When you move to the Career mode you have a selection of several basic vehicles (I started out with a 4 cylinder Chevy Cobalt) and you race against similar cars. I have since the beginning been able to garner enough credits to turn it into a 537 hp supercharged, fire breathing beast with a fully adjustable racing suspension, custom paint and many other modifications that you will just have to find out for youself. I highly recommend this one if you are into realism and competition.

I liked Gothum 3 and still "play around" with it occasionally but not having a wheel does limit response times and overcontrol is a problem with the handheld controller. I've been seeing the TV ads for Forza, looks interesting. Maybe I should hope Santa will bring me a steering wheel (and Peddels?), for Christmas this year. I'll never go back to stick, mouse or pad after using a flight yoke with my aviation sim's. It also doesn't help Xbox 360 that one must pay extra for online play. Flight Sim X online multiplay is free so that is where my extra time to play goes toward.

Gotham is okay but you spend more time racing around cones and trying to garner style points than actual racing and then when you do race for the most part it is done on City streets. Forza takes place on the greatest tracks in the world, against vehicles and competitors of similar type and experience. I use the Microsoft wheel yes with peddles and paddle shifter. I have a computer based WWII flight sim which allows me to fly missions in American, British, japanese, and German Aircraft. I can fly a P-51 fighter or a German Bomber.Take off and land on a Carrier or use a land based aircraft, and I use a joystick controller for that, but it also requires the keyboard for certain functions. I have Madden Football for the 360 and a few others like Gears of war, Halo, Prey, Call of Duty 2 and my Girlfriends Son has a 360 so I usually get to play his games when he gets bored with them which doesn't normally take very long. I enjoy playing these games, I find it relaxing in some cases and extremely stimulating in others. Some of these games can be very realistic. Yes it is a shame that Microsoft charges for on line play but it is possible to network two or more machines locally so it is possible for me and three others using my machine to take on the kid and three others on his machine in multi-player games where you can form teams, and you can communicate over headsets when playing this way as well.

Okay. New here, but here's my input.

For the 360 now its Halo 3. Simply because it finishes what 1 and 2 started (and still leaves the story open). Yes you go around shooting aliens and trying to save mankind. But when you get myself and my brother together, saving mankind becomes funny. Ever seen a tank fly and survive intact (blame my brother)?

Gears of War was also pretty good.

I did like the Star Trek (Legacy) game, but then that is because I am a sci-fi fan. It wasn't the best out, but one of the few good Star Trek games to be made (there are quite a few bad ones).

My brother likes the BioShock game. Graphics seem to be quite good, but I haven't played it at all, so don't really know.

Lost Planet was alright, but we think the story line got strange at times and some of the tasks (and bosses) were weird.

Call of Duty 2 (and probably 3, which I haven't played yet) were reasonably good and 'gritty'. Still lacking in some areas.

For now I think that is it. Thank you for reading.
