Michael, have you flown the AR51 employee shuttle flight yet? It's listed in Missions under secret shuttle and even though it's a simple VFR beginner flight it's pretty funny.

Hay Enigma and all who are interested. The New C&C 3: Tiberium Wars is supposed to come out March 26th 2007. They released a demo a week ago or so. Huge demo file 1.08 gb or so. Gives you a training mission,1 mission, and 1 Skirmish map. Kind of limited. But it is a bit different. If anyone likes C&C and thinking about getting the new one. Get the demo first. As I would have been a bit ticked after buying it. Its good but some of the controls are now different. The right click to move troops and tanks is killing me. Not used to that at all. Getting better at it though. Ready to get the full version now. LOL

Overall might be better than the last few. Needs some time and full version.

But looks like they have added alot more cut/movie style sences. I seen Sawyer from LOST, Boomer from Battlestar Gallatica, Guy (can't think of his name) Starship Troopers, Kids Teacher, future commander, Total Recall, main guy chasing Quade. Lots of others things.

Have to wait and see.

Rick

Battle Field 2

Is anyone into this one??

I picked it up about a week ago and it pretty mad. It is really geared towards online multiplayer in a BIG way.

If anyone is interested in forming an online team... or want to do so online coop play let me know ... (i'm keen).

Quake

Post by MzSnowleopard » Tue Dec 25, 2007 2:21 am

I've long considered this to be 'my game' as in I thought I was the only one in my fmaily who enjoyed it- tonight in calling my aunt to wish her a merry christmas- I learned-

my aunt is an expert level player!!!

My aunt plays Quake 4!!

hmmm- I wonder if I've played against her.

I need to ask what her user name is.

yeah - a bit surprising because I never pegged my aunt as being interested in Quake..

I guess it just goes to show that you can never know everything about people- even your own relatives.

Then again.. She is "the kewl" aunt

So I picked up World In Conflict over the weekend, I love a good strategy game.

Back in the days of Quake (1) I played that, but since I've gotten old my reflexes are too rusty to play against the 12 year old prodigies that show up, so strategy games where the wisdom of years can come into play more is my new cup o' tea.

So I play through the single player on hard mode once, then head online to test my mettle against the masses. I do okay, playing the easy roles of tanks and infantry, not so good on air, I've yet to master that art. So then I try support and my beloved artillery. I love artillery in all games that have such a thing. I mass up like 8 units of medium artillery and use it to bombard choke points and wipe out strongholds. In the two games I did this I was top points on the server by a lot.

Then I go eat dinner, come back, and start out with a bunch more medium artillery, and some guy on my team points out my units on the battlefield and says "What a waste", then they vote kick me from the server. Every second server out there has some kind of self-imposed rule of 1 heavy artillery or 2 medium artillery (not both) and no using anti-air to cover them.

Seems silly to me, it was a perfectly valid tactic that helped my team and yielded beneficial results. Not only that but it's war, there's no rules in war (unless you subscribe to the Geneva Conventions, which I don't think my IRL country does except when it suits them).

So anyways, just a (not so) little rant against the kill-joys running the servers. Not enough to warrant posting in the "I had a bad day" thread because a. it's a game and b. it didn't ruin my day, and not worthy of a thread of its own I don't believe, so I'll append it to this general PC game chat thread.

Also, has anybody heard of that new RTS coming out in the next month or two called End War? Supposedly you can use the Xbox/PS3 headsets to do all your unit movements and actions, should be pretty sweet.

I found this interesting 'though I didn't play with it long enough to see what it unlocks. http://endwargame.us.ubi.com/index.html

Getting kicked from the server seems a pretty intense response for someone's first day back in the saddle. Go figure.
