If you have a team already set up on NASCAR .com, you might be able to just join our league if you aren't already on one.

Look in the team thread for how to join up on that one. Email Labbie for the info on the CBS one. I am pretty sure you have to get the info from him for that one.

I just sent the invite. Not a PM but an email to your excite.com account.

And don't forget the ESPN league too.

{EDIT - And we chose the free games, so no cost to you and a chance to win prizes, if you're good enough}

I have discovered Formula 1.

I like racing in all forms. If it has wheels and goes fast, I like it. Of course, the wheels are optional.

My brother once told me that if they had flies racing go karts on TV, I would watch it. LMAO

I folow F1, but where is all the racing in F1? I get up at 5 am (local) to watch the races live (that's dedication to racing IMO). The fastest guy starts in front and usually extends his lead throughout the race. Very little passing (excuse me, "overtaking" not "passing") is accomplished during the race.

It's mostly technology, not driving skills, that determine the winners in F1. And team orders. A few years ago Barrichelo (sp?) was dominating Schumacher and the Ferrari team orders told Barrichelo to slow down so Schumacher could win.

From a spectator's standpoint, NASCAR and to a smaller extent IRL, put on a much better show for the fans than F1.

Just ask Juan Pablo, he's where he wants to be this year. 36 races in NASCAR vs. about 20 in F1. 3400 lb cars, about half the tire width in NASCAR as opposed to ANY other racing series, no traction control, and almost 900 HP, (Tim Allen voice on) ugh, ugh, ugh (Tim Allen voice off).

And the Le Mans sports car series is definitely cool. The prototype cars are almost as technologally sound as F1, and they run them for up to 24 hours in a single race. F1 has a time limit of about 1.5 hours.

Well, the field for the Daytona 500 is set. We need 3 more players in the NASCAR.com league to even start to play.

You don't have to know anything about NASCAR to play, because KM and I are going to kick your butt's anyway. The joy is in playing the game, not who wins.

So, Labbie.....

What do you think about all those Cup guys running in the Busch series???

I think there's been a bit too many. I think NASCAR should limit the number of Busch races a Cup driver can enter, unless they are running the full season. Maybe 10 - 15. If they'll commit to a full season, then so be it, they're a Busch driver then.

At the same time, MASCAR should limit the number of Cup drivers in each race, again maybe 8 - 10, say as to force the Cup drivers to spread themselves out. More can try, but have a seoncdary qualifying sytem that limits the number of Cup drivers. They do enough goofy things in qualifying already, what's one more system?

And the current "top 30 are in" rule doesn't already cover this because that's based on Owner's points, not the driver.

There's obviously enough Cup drivers willing to run Busch that it wouldn't affect ticket sales (and therby hurt the promotors) by spreading them out thru the season.

Roush entered SIX cars in the Busch race today. I don't remember if they all made it, some pretty big names didn't qualify, Casey Mears (in a Hendricks car) included.

Yep. I was thinking along those same lines.

Busch is supposed to be a training ground for the Cup cars, but with all those Cup drivers running the races there are a whole lot of spots being taken up that could have gone to drivers who are trying to make it to the Cup series.

The only reason the Cup guys are even going down to Busch is to try to get an edge at certain tracks. Except, of course, in cases like Harvick last year. He ran the whole schedule.

I think NASCAR might change things up soon. Make the Busch series a " stand alone " series.

I've heard the same thing from some "experts" about making it a standalone series.

I think the reason the Truck drivers are getting more opportunities in Cup (Kurt Busch ran his first Busch race just last season, Carl Edwards, Ruetimann, etc.) is because the Busch series is filled with Cup drivers. For the up and comers, the Trucks are the place to be.

But that is completely the opposite of the way NASCAR wanted it set up.

They wanted drivers to go from one of the regional circuits, to the trucks, to Busch, to Cup cars.

All those Cup drivers running in Busch races are just blocking the way for some other talented driver.

That's just YOUR ranking, mine is 10,332. LOL

But one thing you have to remember is the sheer number of people you are competing against. I haven't seen a total number yet this year, but last year CBS had over 170,000 participants, so it really ain't that bad.

If we can get Buga to post his rank (with total points of 0), we'd get a better idea.

And mine from ESPN: PTS: 453 PCT: 40.9 RK: 61782
And yours from ESPN: PTS: 536 PCT: 76.5 RK: 24541

My picks are going to remain unchanged for this week though, so I can't possibly have worse luck than I did for Daytona. LMAO

You weren't until the last quarter lap. I had Kenseth on CBS and Kyle Busch on ESPN. They were running 4th and 3rd respectively.

I'm going to wait until qualifying to see. None of my picks salaries changed, so WTH. And I don't know if Said is running California. I'd hate to go into a race one man down, so I may not have a choice.

But it's now time to bring out the Roush & Evernham brigade.

I'll even stick with JPM. I am figuring to keep him on my team for the whole season regardless.

Until we get 6 teams in the NASCAR league, we can't do anything. I thought KM was going to change the league to a public one, but either he can't or he forgot.
