I need help finding out what this pastry is. It was my favorite in Germany but I forgot its name. It's round with hard dark brown dough and has a dark blue filling. I made a picture but it's not very good, sorry.

Thanks guys. Okay, hmm, I can't be sure if it was blueberry or not. It's certainly a dark berry fruit filling. Maybe blueberry and blackberry mixed? One thing I forgot is that it also has some powdered sugar sprinkled on it. I just couldn't figure out how to draw it. I found this little mini pastry/cake in places like Wiesbaden, Frankfurt and Hanau. So I'd say Hessen. But some bakery chains can be spread out in other states as well.

@ Buga. That would be cool. She might have to know a little something about the local food over there though, lol.

I will ask around a bit, perhaps some knows this.
I found two pastries that match your description a bit...
Is it something like that?
http://www.rezeptbuechlein.de/kuchen/Linzer_Torte.html
http://allrecipes.de/rezept/717/brombee ... uchen.aspx

There is a strong baking tradition in southern Germany and Austria, so there are many, many different pastries, cakes and "Mehlspeisen"... all with different recipes from town to town and from family to family. So it may be difficult to find it exactly.

Those look tasty :smt003 They're a bit large though. This one is about 3 1/2 inches. It might be made from gingerbread. If it is than yeah it would be hard to find since gingerbread sweets (lebkuchen?) are very common.

THe image looks like the pastry and at the same time it is of the flavor blue Barry. So basically that is tested little sweet and little juicy. Well I think that image is the upper portion of the cake. Thats why I can't see the bread side.
